“The court granted the request of the investigation and chose a preventive measure to Alexander Biryukov in the form of detention until June 1,” RIA Novosti quotes the court’s press secretary Irina Morozova.
In addition, the court arrested another person involved in the case of the investigator in particularly important cases, Alexander Bryantsev.
According to investigators, Biryukov, his colleague Alexander Krakovsky, as well as Bryantsev, assisted in transferring businessman Albert Khudoyan from jail to house arrest.
The Investigative Committee charged them with abuse of power, which entailed serious consequences.
Alexey Melnikov, executive secretary of the PMC of Moscow, told RT that the detainees spent the night in a temporary detention center on Petrovka.
