It was in early November 2019 that a 27-year-old lit a fire in a garage by throwing in two lit molotov cocktails through a broken window. He also poured combustible liquid into the garage.

According to the judgment, the man had contact with a man 23-year-old during the act. According to Chamber Prosecutor Sara Axelsson, it was a blackmail business where the 27-year-old got the 23-year-old to complete the document.

"This was a way for the perpetrator to recover a debt, it's about trying to blackmail," she says.

Denies crime

In the evidence against the men there were, among other things, telephone lists and testimonials.

- There has been extensive technical evidence from the crime scene, says Sara Axelsson.

The 28-year-old man is sentenced to two years in prison for arson. He is also convicted of drunken driving, drug offenses and doping. The 23-year-old man is sentenced to two years in prison for attempted extortion, the arson and arson crime.

Both men refuse a crime.
