A sixty-something woman died on Wednesday in the Dordogne. She drowned in a pond at a place called Le Genêt in the west of the department. The drama occurred at the beginning of the afternoon around 3.30 p.m., relates Sud Ouest.

These are witnesses who alerted the emergency services. They managed to get this 66-year-old woman out of the water themselves, but it was already too late. The firefighters could not revive her.

For the moment, the circumstances of the death of this village resident remain unclear. The police opened an investigation.
