The State Attorney General, Dolores Delgado, has issued a decree ordering the closure of the investigation entrusted to the prosecutor Manuel Dolz for the deaths of the elderly in residences in different parts of Spain during the coronavirus health crisis.

In the decree, to which EL MUNDO has had access, Delgado maintains that, after the opening of the investigative proceedings that are relevant in the territorial prosecutors' offices of the places where the events occurred, such as that of Valladolid or Barcelona , it has declined the object of the investigative proceedings opened in the Office of the Attorney General "which must therefore be filed without prejudice to maintaining the communication channel provided for in Article 25 of the Organic Statute of the Office of the Prosecutor in the future and with the investigating territorial prosecutors."
