Donald Trump has a great reason for satisfaction: the success, in terms of number of viewers, of his daily press briefings on the coronavirus.

"The audiences for my press conferences are so good (...) that the media is going CRAZY," the US president tweeted on Sunday.

"+ Trump is affecting too many people, we have to stop him," said a lunatic, "he added, meeting the Americans, like almost every day, at 5:00 p.m. (9:00 p.m. GMT).

Accusing journalists in another tweet of wishing at all costs the failure of his government in the face of this pandemic, he added: "It will NEVER happen!"

In the daily update of the "coronavirus task force", which takes place in the press room of the White House, the republican billionaire passes in turn from explanations on the health emergency to virulent attacks against the elected Democrats or purely electoral considerations.

Faced with these digressions, and the many approximations of the tenant of the White House on the pandemic, voices were raised within certain media to deplore the turn taken by this appointment designed to inform, explain, reassure.

American channels are now advancing in dispersed order. If Fox News broadcasts most of the time in its entirety, CBS, NBC and CNN have adjusted the shot in recent days and resume the antenna without waiting for the departure of the real estate tycoon.
