Interviewed by Muhammad Amari

Since March 15 this year, the Moroccan Minister of Equipment, Transport, Logistics and Water in the Moroccan government, Abdelkader Amara, has been subjected to a domestic quarantine after it was confirmed that he had contracted the new Corona virus (Covid-19).

Al-Jazeera Net interviewed the Moroccan minister to find out his diaries in the home stone, and I asked him: How does he spend his day? And how to run the ministry from a distance? How does he and his family live this extraordinary period of his life?

How did you catch the virus? Where and when? What are the most prominent symptoms that appeared on you?

This is something that cannot be definitively confirmed by something conclusive. As you know, as a matter of responsibility, as Minister of Equipment, Transport, Logistics and Water, I follow a large number of infrastructure construction projects in all parts of the Kingdom. Therefore, I travel a lot.

In recent weeks, I have been to a number of provinces in the center and north of the country, and of course, by virtue of ministerial responsibility, I have traveled to Europe on official missions, and I have passed through a number of international airports.

And I made sure to discipline the rules of health safety, but despite all of this, God estimated me to be infected with this infection, and I am in this belief that there is no response to God’s judgment and his destiny, so as I told you earlier, determining a place or time to catch the infection is what is impossible to predict.

You entered the quarantine in your house a few days ago? Why at home? Was this your choice or advice from specialists?

As for the symptoms, in fact, apart from some headaches and some fatigue, there were no other symptoms, no respiratory symptoms, or a rise in body temperature.

Here some may ask: Why then contact the health authorities? The reason is due to the fact that there is a precautionary directive that requires that after returning from any external task and in the event of unusual symptoms, medical advice should be requested, and on this basis I took precaution as it is said, because the nature of my ministerial tasks makes me meet with many officials and employees, so they should not be exposed to any possibility For infection, even if weak, and after medical advice there was a laboratory analysis that confirmed the acquisition of the virus.

And because the symptoms are simple, the doctors required that I stay at home for a period of no less than 14 days, and they did not see a need to go to the hospital, and they recommended that I abide by the basic health rules and take medication to avoid any complications, and the doctors also considered that my wife and son stay with me at home, but in a manner Secluded.

The bottom line is that this home stone is a decision made by doctors, and of course it meets in its outcome with general guidance for people staying in their homes and not going out except for the extreme necessity, but it differs in that it relates to a person who picks up the virus, and then assessing the development of the disease and the size of its complications and the special precautions to be taken all of this Entrusted to doctors alone, and it is not permissible to take ijtihad from anyone, even if the concerned person is a minister.

Minister Abdel Qader Amara devotes time every day to answering the calls of his family and friends (Al-Jazeera Net)
Are you recovering now? And when are you expected to return to normal life?

I am now in a normal position, there are no disturbing symptoms, the headache is much reduced, there is some coughing from time to time, my body temperature I monitor it regularly, and praise be to God is normal, praise be to God one day on the day things improve.

It is more likely that the period of the stone will extend for about two weeks, now six days have passed, and in all cases this stone will end with a decision by the doctors after conducting a laboratory analysis, God willing.

We want to know in some detail how do you spend your day? What is your daily program from morning to night?

The daily program is dominated by the regular tasks of my ministerial activity, especially in light of these exceptional circumstances in which our country and the rest of the world face the Corona pandemic.

Usually after Fajr prayer I go back to sleep, because taking a rest is required to help the body resist the virus, and after that there is a salary appointment that I cannot violate from 9:30 in the morning until ten in the morning, my parents who live in the city of Oujda (east) call me Morocco) to reassure us about my health and my condition in general, and of course the parents always seek their satisfaction, and they also do not rest for them at the beginning of the day before they hear my voice and reassure us.

After a quick breakfast, I start working remotely, generally by phone, WhatsApp, and e-mail, as well as the "video conference" technology, where I communicate with the Secretary-General of the Ministry, the President of the Bureau, general managers, and directors of public institutions and bodies that preside over their administrative councils (about 25 institutions) by virtue of their affiliation with the Ministry , Such as the National Railway Office, the Morocco Highway Company (a highway management company, or what is known as a highway), the port company, and others.

This work may extend to five in the afternoon, and it usually involves contacting other ministers to solve some problems, especially the Minister of Interior and the Minister of Finance.

After that I eat lunch even at this late time, which is not my usual habit, then classes for reading the Qur’an and reading newspapers and following up on some international TV channels begin, then I answer the calls of friends, colleagues, loved ones and the general public whose calls were not interrupted, of course other than those That my wife and son are communicating with, and I am also trying very hard to respond to some messages on my official Facebook page.

Reading and following the news is one of the constants in the daily program of Minister Abdel Qader Emara (Al-Jazeera Net)

I also have a salary appointment at nine o'clock at night to follow the news on local channels, especially what matters in the development of the epidemiological situation in our country, and also brings me a family session with my wife and son in which all preventive precautions are taken, especially the safe distance recommended by doctors, and my other sons (my sons) join And my son's wife) via WhatsApp.

I conclude my daily program by following some scientific documentary tapes that I have not had the opportunity to view before, and I am keen that their subjects are far from the Corona pandemic, then I go to sleep around midnight.

How do you feel while you are in isolation for so long?

My feeling inside the home stone is the feeling of every believer in God’s worth and destiny, balance and discipline should be demonstrated to help the country overcome this ordeal, and my legal status cannot give me any advantage regarding the application of the precautionary measures decided by the authorities in my country.

How do you manage the ministry from a distance, especially since your ministry has huge tasks during this period due to its responsibility for airports and ports, as well as public transportation?

As for signatures, all that is not necessary for my assistant to do after I give instructions, of course, the most important decisions are related to the exceptional situation in which our country and the world around us are concerned, mainly concerning the movement of individuals, the transport of catering materials, the operation of ports in good conditions because of their importance to the national economy, the precautionary measures of different workers or Auditors who need a number of official documents from the ministry.

What are the most important lessons and lessons learned by Abdul Qadir, the architecture of man from this period?

Domestic stone gives those who have lived an opportunity to reflect on a number of things, on top of which is that no matter how man’s potential he is limited to a number of phenomena, we are here in front of a simple creature that does not see with the naked eye mortgaging the whole world socially, economically, culturally and healthily.

Then there are these great meanings of solidarity, we are a monolithic society with great ties, the volume of communications that I received during this period is intense and they are not interrupted, everyone asks, calls and wants to be reassured, even eating some of my wife's friends volunteered to prepare and send it.

These contacts were not restricted to officials, but rather from all citizens, and these beautiful meanings bring warmth to the heart and inspire hope in the souls.

There is also a branch of this unique solidarity, which is a sense of responsibility that leads you to more discipline to the directives of the official authorities, your slogan in this is that "the group should not come from my side", and I repeat and repeat that the situation is not an area of ijtihad, but it requires all of us to apply the directives and enough .
