England team captain Harry Kane said on Sunday he would favor a cancellation of the Premier League season, which is on hiatus due to the new coronavirus pandemic, if it cannot be finished by the end of June.

The English championship is currently suspended until at least April 30, a further likely delay to be announced soon.

While Euro 2020 has been postponed by a year, which opens a window to complete the national championships and the European Cups during the summer, the Tottenham striker does not want the leaders of the Premier League let the current season run after June.

"I think we have to try to end the season. But there has to be a point where we can say + enough is enough +," Kane said in a live Instagram conversation with former Liverpool star. Jamie Redknapp, Sunday.

There have been rumors of an extension of the English Premier League's current season fixtures to August, dates which should normally start in the 2020-21 season.

"I know the Premier League will do everything it can to end the season and is looking into all the options available," said the English striker.

But "playing in July or August and postponing next season does not seem very advantageous to me. But obviously, I don't know much about behind the scenes and finances," he added.

"For me, the limit is probably the end of June. If the season is not finished by the end of June, we have to look into the possibilities and look forward to next season," said the striker. 26 years old, including the club, eliminated in C1, is currently ranked 8th in the league. We have to go back to the 2008-2009 season to see the Spurs finish in such a bad classification at the end of the year.

Premier League matches could also be held behind closed doors to try to end the season, once the current lockout in Britain is lifted.
