“We do not announce in advance the actions that we are taking in connection with the sanctions, but we will study ways to support the democratic aspirations of the people of Venezuela,” the State Department answered the question about the possibility of lifting sanctions from Rosneft subsidiaries and the possibility that restrictive measures may be imposed on a company owned by the Russian government that purchased these shares.

Earlier it was reported that Rosneft announced the termination of activities in Venezuela.

As it is specified, Rosneft entered into an agreement with a company 100% owned by the Russian government on the sale of shares and termination of its participation in all projects in Venezuela, including shares in the mining enterprises of Petromonagas, Petroperija, Boqueron, Petromiranda and Petrovictoria, in oilfield service enterprises and trading operations.
