In this retirement home in Thillot, "one of the two buildings records cases of Covid-19 contamination among caregivers (8 to date) as well as among residents (58 suspected cases, three of which are positive)," announced in a joint press release the regional health agency (ARS) of Grand Est and the prefecture of the Vosges. "We regret to confirm the death of four residents of the establishment in the past five days," they add.

An action plan is underway

"An action plan to strengthen the establishment from a logistical and human point of view is underway", according to the ARS and the prefecture, with the supply of masks and overcoats and the replacement of sick staff.

The prefect of Vosges, Pierre Ory, "has decided to mobilize the departmental operational center (COD) in order to coordinate the various actors engaged in the fight against the spread of Covid-19 within the Ehpad", they still indicate.

In another Ehpad des Vosges, the situation "remains fragile"

Also in the Vosges, the situation at the "Couarôge" nursing home in Cornimont, which has recorded 21 deaths "possibly linked to the Covid-19" since the start of the epidemic, "remains fragile", according to the press release . "But the shortage of personal protective equipment and the difficulties of replacing sick staff have been resolved," say the ARS and the prefecture.

The Minister of Health, Olivier Véran, announced Saturday that he would ask the Ehpad "to go towards an individual isolation" of their residents to protect them more against the coronavirus. He also wants the staff of the Ehpad to be "tested first".
