At the beginning of the 2000s, a large number of value shipments were carried out annually. They were not unusual with spectacular diversion maneuvers in connection with the robberies that put sticks in the wheels of the police, such as burning cars and pedestrians.

But in the last ten years, the number of value transport robberies has dropped dramatically. In 2010, 59 value shipments were reported, compared to only one in 2018.

Reduced cash handling

Sven Ahlbin is currently retired but previously worked as head of the county crime. He sees several reasons for the disappearance of the value transport robberies in principle, including reduced cash handling in the community and the companies that transport the money developed and improved security.
