A 19-year-old man died on Tuesday in a Paris hospital after being attacked and beaten ten days ago, in Lucé (Eure-et-Loir).

On the night of Sunday, March 15 to Monday, March 16, he was attacked by a dozen people who got out of two cars, while he was walking in a street in this town on the outskirts of Chartres, concordant sources said. Seriously injured in the head, he was left in serious condition on the sidewalk.

Settlement of accounts between rival bands

The owner of one of the cars transporting the attackers was arrested. Charged last week for attempted murder, he was placed in pre-trial detention. According to the first elements of the investigation, this attack could be linked to the deadly brawl which had opposed two rival gangs from two districts of the municipalities of Lucé and Mainvilliers, on January 21, in Chartres.

A 16-year-old boy died the same evening from his injuries. The main suspect, also 16 years old and suspected of having carried out the fatal stabbing, presented himself to the police. Charged with intentional homicide, he was placed in pre-trial detention. Nine other minors aged 15 to 17 were also charged.
