This decision was made following the results of an extraordinary meeting of the regional commission on issues of technogenic and environmental safety and emergency situations.
“According to the results of the meeting, a decision was made to determine the situation in the region in connection with the spread of SARS caused by coronavirus as an emergency situation of a medical and biological nature at the regional level,” the statement said.
In the Lviv region, two cases of coronavirus infection were recorded.
Previously, the emergency mode was introduced in the Kharkov region.
According to the latest data, 73 cases of coronavirus infection have been confirmed in Ukraine.
The head of the Ministry of Health of Ukraine Ilya Yemets called for a state of emergency to be introduced throughout the country to combat COVID-19.
