The Ministry of Health and Community Protection has warned against using dietary supplements (Dragon Wolverine - tablets), because it contains undeclared substances, which may cause a sharp drop in blood pressure, at a dangerous level, and decided to withdraw it and prevent its circulation and import.
In a formal circular addressed to all health facilities and health-care practitioners in the private health sector, the Ministry stated that the aforementioned product, which is used as a food supplement, has been shown to contain two pharmaceutical substances, one of which is not announced, one of which is “sildafil” that may cause a sharp drop in blood pressure, It may reach a level of risk, which poses a great risk to the health of patients with heart disease, diabetes and high levels of fat, especially those who take medicines containing nitrates.
According to the ministry’s circular, the supplement contains a second medicinal substance, chloramphenicol, which is an antibiotic that is only dispensed by prescription.
The Ministry confirmed that the product is not registered in its drug administration, and recommended to all health facilities and health care practitioners in the private sector the necessity to take the necessary measures towards withdrawing the product from the market, and preventing its circulation and import.
