The Health and Environmental Affairs Committee of the Federal National Council held today a "remote" meeting through the technology of "video conferencing", headed by the Chairman of the Committee, Mohamed Ahmed Al Yamahi, to discuss a federal draft law on public health, which consists of 38 articles.

Representatives of the relevant and competent authorities from the municipalities, departments and health authorities participated in the meeting - which recorded a parliamentary precedent that is the first of its kind since the establishment of the council. The head of the committee, Muhammad Ahmad Al Yamahi, said: The committee was keen to hold this meeting remotely, in response to the governmental directions aimed at spreading the remote work system in line with the nature and regulations of work in the Federal National Council, and to ensure the continued performance of work and the provision of all services in all emergency circumstances, Stressing that it was a successful experience by all standards.

He added: «Although the meeting was via remote means of communication, the committee was keen to abide by all the legal requirements mentioned in the internal regulations of the council from completing the quorum and managing the meeting according to the regulations determined and editing the minutes of the meeting.

He continued that the strong information infrastructure enjoyed by the state in the communications and technology sector helped to continue the course of work within the council, and the continued fulfillment by the committees of their duties and their legislative and supervisory role in the service of the country and the citizen, and not to prejudice their work plans during the first regular session of the seventeenth legislative term And, by taking advantage of remote teleconferencing in a way that will speed the completion of work with the required accuracy.
