The Abu Dhabi Agriculture and Food Safety Authority issued a circular regarding the application of a number of preventive measures to all food establishments in Abu Dhabi, in implementation of precautionary measures, in line with government procedures and efforts, and in order to enhance the food safety system, to ensure the highest levels of health and safety protection.

The circular included the need to work to prevent shoppers from gathering during the purchase process, and to leave a distance of at least 1.5 meters between the shopper and the other when paying cash, by specifying land marking signs, in addition to encouraging electronic shopping and home delivery services through electronic applications.

The Authority obligated the facility officials to ensure that the employees were medically fit, and to maintain a record of absent or injured employees, confirming that it would organize extensive inspection campaigns to verify compliance with these procedures, and in the event of non-compliance the offender would be subject to legal accountability.
