Malaysia's first dead new pandemic coronavirus infection March 18 at 1:12

The Malaysian government on Tuesday announced that two men who had been infected with the new coronavirus had died. This is the first time an infected person has died in Malaysia.

The deaths were of a 34-year-old man living in southern Johor, a Malaysian, and a 60-year-old man in Sarawak, Borneo.

A 34-year-old man was confirmed infected after attending a Muslim-intensive event held in Kuala Lumpur, the capital city, for four days until the 1st of this month.

A 60-year-old man is a pastor, and the government monitors about 200 close contacts, such as visiting churches.

In Malaysia, the number of infected people has increased rapidly, with 673 infected people at the moment, and the government has decided to ban all foreigners and Malaysians from late on the night of the 17th .
