This is reported by RIA Novosti with reference to the message of the Russian government.

The cabinet added that in pursuance of the decisions of the head of state, Vladimir Putin, a draft government decree was introduced on the introduction of temporary restrictions on the entry of foreigners, including Belarusian citizens, into Russia to combat coronavirus infection.

It is indicated that during a telephone conversation between the prime ministers of the two countries, Mikhail Mishustin and Sergey Rumas, which took place on March 15, the Belarusian side was warned about the planned measures. In particular, the Prime Minister of Belarus was informed that restrictions on entry into Russia would not apply to certain categories of people, including truck drivers.

Earlier, Belarusian leader Alexander Lukashenko said that Belarus, in response to Russia's decision, would not close its borders.

He also announced plans to discuss closure of the border with Russian President Vladimir Putin.
