Asvel were still in the lead in the 29th minute, having had an 8-point lead in the third quarter. But the Madrilenians returned without panicking to keep their second place (22 wins, 6 losses), behind Efes Istanbul.

The Villeurbannais are them in the last quarter of the classification (15th with 10 victories and 18 defeats). They remained on a good success Tuesday on another Spanish club, Valence (72-65).

The champions of France relied on their interiors Tonye Jekiri (10 points, 11 rebounds) and Livio Jean-Charles (13 points) and on their young leaders Théo Maledon and Matthew Strazel (12 and 11 points).

On the Madrid side, the French Fabien Causeur was one of the men of the match (15 points) with the American shooter Jaycee Carroll (19 points).

The next Euroleague match will pit Asvel against the Russians in St. Petersburg, a match to be won against the red lantern. Meanwhile the Villeurbannais will play two matches of the French Championship against Le Mans and Monaco (late match).
