March 03, 2020 Violent protests in Chișinău, the capital of Moldova, of the veterans of the war in Transnistria in 1992, between the independence militias and the Moldovan armed forces, following the secession of Transnistria from Moldova.



On the anniversary of the recurrence of the armed conflict, the Moldovan Foreign Minister Aureliu Ciocoi said that it was Russia that stopped the war at the time. The statement sparked the violent protest of the Moldovan veterans who took to the streets in thousands, assaulting the government headquarters and demanding the resignation of the government and the president.
