Corona virus infects 72 countries and Seoul declares war on disease

With Ukraine declaring the first infection recorded, the number of countries that the new Corona virus has reached reaches 72, with deaths exceeding the 3,000 threshold, as well as more than 89,000 infected people.

Iran has announced 11 new deaths from the emerging coronavirus during the past 24 hours, raising the total death toll from illness in the Islamic Republic to 77.

Deputy Minister of Health Ali Reza Raisi said in statements broadcast on state television that the total number of HIV infections reached 2336, including 835 new infections.

He also pointed out that 435 people were recovered after contracting the virus across the country.

In the same context, the authorities in Iran confirm that most of the injuries were observed in the capital, Tehran, and the provinces of Qom and Ghilan.

Among the deaths, according to local media, is the advisor to the head of the judiciary, Ahmed Toeserkani.

Earlier, Abdul Ridha Masri, deputy speaker of the Iranian Parliament, had revealed that 23 MPs had contracted the virus.

It has been previously announced that among the injured Iranian officials are the head of the National Security and Foreign Policy Committee in Parliament Mojtaba Dhul-Nur, five members of Parliament, the Iranian Vice-President for Women and Family Affairs Masoumeh Ebtekar, the Deputy Minister of Health Erg Hariri, and the President of the University of Medicine in Qom Province, Mohammad Reza Qadeer .

In the same matter, the Saudi Press Agency stated that the Kingdom prohibited entry of citizens and residents of the Gulf Cooperation Council countries who had traveled outside the GCC states during the previous 14 days.

The agency said that travelers from any other member of the Gulf Cooperation Council must spend 14 consecutive days in any of these countries, and that symptoms of infection with the Coronavirus should not be apparent to them before they are granted entry visas.

War on disease
The agency quoted a source in the Ministry of Interior saying that Saudi citizens and residents in the Kingdom coming from the countries of the Gulf Cooperation Council must inform the authorities upon their arrival of any travel to them outside the countries of the Cooperation Council during the past 14 days.

In South Korea, President Moon Ji declared war on Corona on Tuesday, and ordered to provide additional beds in hospitals and more masks, with the number of new infections in the country increased by 974 cases, in the worst outbreak of the disease outside China.

Moon apologized for the lack of masks and promised to support the affected small businesses in Asia's fourth largest economy.

South Korea announced the number of injured people increased to 5186 and recorded 34 deaths.

"The entire country has entered into a war with this infectious disease, with the crisis in Daegu and Jeongbuk Province reaching the highest levels," the South Korean president told a cabinet meeting.

"I very much regret the people who we were unable to provide quickly with enough masks, which caused them inconvenience," he added.

The Ukrainian authorities announced today, Tuesday, the first case of infection with the new Corona virus, according to the local newspaper "Kiev Post".
