- Animals and plants have had so long to optimize their way of functioning. Therefore, it is interesting for researchers to look at how nature has chosen to solve various problems, says Marcus Björling, associate professor at Luleå University of Technology.

Now researchers at John Hopkins University have created a robot inspired by a king's snake. The idea is that the robot will be involved in rescue operations in the future.

- It's a bell-free example of biomimetics, they develop a robot with a pattern of movement that resembles a real snake, says Marcus Björling, associate professor at Luleå University of Technology.
