In detail, the Federal National Council will hold today its sixth session of the first regular session of the seventeenth legislative session at the headquarters of the Council in Abu Dhabi, headed by Speaker of the Council Saqr Ghobash, to discuss three federal draft laws: The first regarding amending some provisions of Federal Law No. (1) for the year 2019 regarding the diplomatic and consular corps, and the second to amend some provisions of Federal Law No. (11) for the year 2018 regarding the regulation of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, while the latter regarding pesticides.

Council member Saeed Rashid Al-Abdi asks the Minister of State for Financial Affairs, Obaid Humaid Al Tayer, about “health insurance for citizens”, through which he recommends that the government quickly finish the federal law regarding unified health insurance for citizens, to ensure their health care in all cities of the country.

He expressed his hope that there will be no delay in establishing a federal umbrella for health insurance, especially since the government has previously spoken of its readiness after completing the review at the Ministry of Justice, adding: «This law will achieve a qualitative shift in the health care system in the country, especially if the two experiences of Abu Dhabi are used And Dubai in this area, as they are successful experiences and ready for implementation at the federal level, especially since many citizens suffer the burden of going to private hospitals, and the additional costs that this imposes on treatment. ”

Al-Abdi stressed that citizens are looking forward to the speedy completion of the regulatory framework for this law that creates a federal system of health insurance, regardless of whether this citizen works in the government or private sector, enabling him to receive treatment in private hospitals as well.
