In Moscow, 24 people were hospitalized after contact with a coronavirus-infected Russian citizen who returned from Italy. This was announced by the mayor of the capital Sergey Sobyanin.

“Within a day from the moment of suspicion of infection (February 29), a full circle of contacts of this person was established - relatives, friends, acquaintances and passengers flying with him on the same flight,” the mayor’s website said in a statement.

Sobyanin said that six relatives and five acquaintances of the patient were sent to medical facilities, they did not have symptoms of the disease. Also, with a slight malaise, 13 passengers of the flight, to whom the sick person flew, were hospitalized. Another 83 people without symptoms of illness are placed in home quarantine.

Meanwhile, at all Moscow airports, citizens arriving from China, Iran and South Korea are issued isolation orders, their contact details are recorded, and a coronavirus infection test is taken. Passengers from Italy and other countries with an unfavorable situation are given notifications recommending compliance with the isolation regime at home, the mayor said. Currently, over 5.5 thousand people are under surveillance.

In addition, temperature measurements are carried out for all passengers on international flights at all airports.

"The daily rounds of places of mass visits and residence of Chinese citizens, as well as Russians and citizens of other countries, who flew from China to Moscow before the introduction of complete control at the borders, continue," the message said.

In addition, in kindergartens and schools introduced daily temperature measurements of children. Also, selective temperature measurement by remote means will be organized at the entrances to the Moscow Metro.

Sobyanin called on Muscovites to comply with the restrictions, as well as apply preventive measures recommended by doctors.

Of course, he could infect someone, and the contactees were put on an observation. This is not hospitalization, but observation, that is, they were isolated, and correctly done. Everything is in order, there is nothing to worry about. We must not grab the mask, beat the bells, because there is no reason for this, ”said Zuev.
