China News Agency, Geneva, February 28 (Reporter De Yongjian) The 43rd session of the United Nations Human Rights Council held an interactive dialogue with the Special Rapporteur on torture. China's Special Representative for Human Rights, Liu Hua, said China's determination to oppose torture is unwavering.

Liu Hua pointed out that many laws and regulations, such as the Chinese Criminal Law, the Criminal Procedure Law, the Prison Law, the Detention Center Regulations, and the People's Police Training Regulations for Public Security Organs, have clearly stipulated the prohibition of torture. China has submitted six reports on implementation of the Convention against Torture, conducted constructive dialogue with the United Nations Committee against Torture, and is determined to oppose torture.

Liu Hua said that at present China is fully advancing the rule of law, deepening judicial reform, and strengthening human rights protection. Positive progress has been made in all areas, including legislation, law enforcement, justice, supervision, rule of law education, and social participation, especially the revised Criminal Procedure Law. "Stipulates that no one shall be forced to prove his guilty, and extortion of confessions by torture is strictly prohibited. Public security organs install monitoring facilities at law enforcement cases, install simultaneous recording and video recording equipment in interrogation rooms, strengthen supervision to prevent torture by torture, improve the enforcement mechanism for law enforcement fault liability, protect lawyers' rights and role in practice, and strive to make the people in every jurisdiction Fairness and justice were felt in the case.
