According to the parliamentarian, the number of citizens in need of housing in this category has more than doubled over the past year and a half - from 106 to 220 people.

According to the response of the Ministry of Construction, which RT got acquainted with, the constituent entities of the Russian Federation to provide housing for veterans of the Great Patriotic War in need of improved housing conditions, 5129.7 million rubles were provided for 2019, another 2500.0 million rubles were allocated additionally.

“Due to these funds, 3308 veterans of the Great Patriotic War improved their living conditions in 2019, of which 449 people and participants of the Great Patriotic War improved their living conditions.
As of January 20, 2020, the number of veterans of the Great Patriotic War not provided with housing was 220 people, including 20 people with disabilities and participants in the Great Patriotic War, ”the ministry said in a response.
