The head of the Italian Civil Defense, Angelo Borelli, announced today, Thursday, that the cases of the new mutated Corona virus increased to 528 cases, including 40 people who recovered from the virus.

Borelli said the northern Italian province of Lombardy had recorded 37 cases of cure, in addition to three cases that had cured in Rome earlier.

Borelli told a press conference at the agency's headquarters in Rome that the number of deaths had risen to 14, but added that the number was still under verification.

Borelli said that of the 528 confirmed cases of the virus, about 282 cases are subject to further scrutiny by the National Institute of Health.
