Stationary trucks and power outages during the night

During the night, the snow has fallen over the inner parts of Götaland, and in some places caused problems. To the west of Alvesta, several trucks were stationary and a fallen tree blocked the road between Lagan and Vittaryd for an hour.

Over Småland and Östergötland, a number of minor power outages were reported during the night, most for a short time.

At 02, they received more than 5,700 households in Malmö municipality, which on Tuesday evening became electricity back without electricity. Problems locating the fault, according to Eon, took the time to switch the power.

The harsh winds caused the Öresund Bridge to be shut down for four hours on Tuesday evening. The bridge was reopened, but with the recommendation not to drive wind-sensitive vehicles over it.

- The rain in the farthest south dominates, but in the inner parts of Småland and Östergötland there is heavy snowfall, says the SMHI meteorologist Alexandra Ohlsson.

Even Södermanland and the southern Stockholm area can expect snowfall. The Baltic Sea coast, from Kalmar up to the southern parts of Stockholm, also receives fresh wind, which locally increases during the day to severe wind gusts.

- It lasts during Thursday and you can expect snow showers occasionally during the day, says Alexandra Ohlsson.

By contrast, most parts of Norrland can expect a sunny winter day and between 5 and 10 minus degrees.
