LBVA pumps out the water before it reaches the treatment plant when the pressure is too high. Water is also pumped out directly from the treatment plant.

- Right now, the treatment plant does not work to the extent that it should, it is very small purification effect, says Mattias Hultin.

The water in Lagan passes around 400 cubic meters per second, which is large amounts of water compared to normal cases.

LBVA has now set up pumping stations both in Knäred and at the treatment plant to reduce the amount of water. But even though measures have now been taken, Mattias Hultin believes that it would not have any major effects if the wastewater treatment plant were to be completely knocked out.

- Here and now it is not good, but in general it does not have any direct consequences, he says.
