In an interview with the program “Moscow. Kremlin. Putin ”Peskov noted that Russia and Turkey are in constant contact on the situation in Syria, including at the highest level.

“The president (of Russia Vladimir Putin. - RT ) this week devoted a very long time to the situation in Syria and this crisis situation around Idlib in particular,” his Vesti portal quotes.

At the same time, Peskov noted that tension in Syria remains.

According to him, the Syrian government could not leave unanswered the offensive actions of militants in Idlib.

“The Syrian military, being in their own country, on their territory, naturally, answered. This all led to extreme tension, ”said the spokesman for the head of state.

At the same time, he noted that one should not "fall into gloomy moods" regarding Russian-Turkish relations against the background of the aggravation in Idlib.

Earlier, the Kremlin said that terrorists in Idlib regularly receive very dangerous samples of military equipment, which does not help stabilize the situation in the province.

The Russian Foreign Ministry, in turn, warned that Turkey’s support for militants in Idlib could lead to further escalation of the conflict.
