His Highness, upon chairing the first meeting of the committee, said that declaring 2020 “the year of its 50th preparation” embodies the leadership thought of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, and His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi Deputy Supreme Commander of the Armed Forces, who focuses on human beings and improving the quality of his life in all areas.

His Highness stressed the central and important role of the committee in implementing the state’s directions and leadership visions in preparing for the next stage, by enhancing the readiness for the future and adopting a proactive approach that explores the challenges and future global changes, to achieve the goals of the year of preparing for the fifty years and to reach the UAE in the first places globally by the centenary of its founding.

The 50th Preparatory Committee reviewed the action plan and strategic directions for the first phase of the UAE Centennial, and discussed the formation of joint working groups at the federal and local levels to oversee the sectors of the plan, and discussed the formation of a national team of elite Emirati minds and those with expertise to design future plans.

Participants in the meeting stressed the importance of enhancing societal participation at the level of the UAE, by engaging society in its various categories, especially youth, and private sector institutions and companies.

The committee’s tasks include setting a complete vision for the comprehensive development plan for the UAE and the time frame for its implementation, and developing the work system to be the fastest and most flexible and flexible government in the Emirates to adapt to future changes with the participation of all community groups to design life in the UAE.
