An Egyptian government source involved in the Renaissance Dam negotiations said that the current formulations by the United States of a final agreement between Egypt, Ethiopia and Sudan on "the Renaissance Dam" would not be in Egypt's interest by 100 percent.

And the "Masrawy" website quoted an unnamed source, saying that Washington is not drafting an agreement to be on the side of Egypt or Ethiopia, but after hearing full details that determines what the situation will be in line with international law.

The source added that "the best that the Americans see will not be 100% in favor of Egypt, but we feel that we are proceeding with what should be, and then we see that the agreement is largely going with what we see, because Ethiopia was intransigent, but the presence of the Americans made the commitment to Somewhat".

He stressed that the Egyptian negotiating delegation will not sign anything that is not in his country's interest.

He attributed the postponement of signing the final agreement on the dam, to the difference over the legal formulations of the agreement between the three countries, which resulted in the United States and the World Bank assuming the status of drafting the agreement and presenting it to the three countries.
