Donald Trump dismisses Director of National Intelligence

Jo Maguire, the acting director of national intelligence, was sacked by Donald Trump. At issue: a briefing pointing to attempts at Russian interference in the 2020 presidential election.

During this top secret hearing, a Joseph Maguire adviser, Shelby Pierson, allegedly claimed that Russia was again interfering in the American elections to promote the candidacy of Donald Trump . Among its targets: the Democrats' primaries.
According to the New York Times , which reports the case, the American president got angry when he got wind of this meeting. He was particularly angry at the presence of Adam Schiff, the Democrat who led the parliamentary inquiry after which he was charged with abuse of power and obstructing the work of Congress.
The Washington Post reports that during a meeting in the Oval Office last week, Donald Trump attacked Joe Maguire, accusing him of the " disloyalty " of his staff. The American head of state considers that this meeting should not have taken place without his approval, and especially that he should not have been informed by a member of Congress.
Jo Maguire has been replaced at the head of national intelligence by Richard Grenell, the American ambassador to Germany, a personality presented as very loyal to Donald Trump.
