A field monitoring conducted by "Emirates Today" showed that some taxi passengers complained of high taxi prices in the wake of the launch of "Hala Taxi", the joint project between Karim and the Roads and Transport Authority in Dubai, is incorrect, and the authority confirmed that the taxi fees have not been modified, And it is applied without any change.

It became clear through a field tour and the use of taxis at separate times of the day and night that the tariff of the taxi vehicle is subject to the usual increase in the times of day and evening peaks when using the taxi service, at the same value determined for years and before the launch of the Hala Taxi service, without any change.

Passengers have gone to "Emirates Today" with a complaint stating that the tariff for opening a regular taxi meter counter in Dubai, when used at any time during the day and night, is 12 dirhams, when the vehicle is requested through the "Hala Taxi" service through the Karim application However, field monitoring and the question of a group of taxi users in Dubai confirmed that the complaint was not correct.

The Roads and Transport Authority in Dubai also confirmed to "Emirates Today" that there has been no change in the fees for using taxis that are requested through the Karim application. The Authority called on passengers to file a complaint through the available channels, and to keep the flight fare receipt in case of any error in the fare.

The passenger complaint indicates that some of them may use the limousine service or non-economic vehicles available by reserving the vehicle through the application of Karim, which are vehicles whose tariffs are higher than normal taxi vehicles.

According to the fees set by the Roads and Transport Authority in Dubai and applied for years, the tariff for opening a regular taxi meter for direct trips from the street at normal times is 5 dirhams, but for pre-booking service through the application or calling, the tariff for opening the meter at normal times 8 Dirhams.

Regular times run from 10 am to 4 pm, and from 10 pm until 7 am. The tariff for opening the meter during peak hours is 10 dirhams for direct flights, and 12 dirhams for pre-booking, and the morning peak hours in the days from Saturday to Wednesday run from 7 am to 10 am, and from 4 pm until 8 pm.

The meter opening fee is 9 dirhams, if the vehicle is booked directly from the road, in the time period between 10 am and 6 pm. On Thursday and Friday, rush hours were scheduled from 4 pm to 12 midnight.

The value of 20 dirhams is added when passing through the Emirate of Sharjah, and the value of opening the meter when the taxi is taken from Dubai International Airport is 25 dirhams.

It is mentioned that the authority took a decision to convert the services of the reservation and awareness center in full to "Hala Taxi", the joint project between the Roads and Transport Authority and Karim Company, as of last January, in the light of which passengers book the taxi via the Hala electronic reservation system using the Karim application instead of the interactive system Voice to book taxis in Dubai.
