A local company in the Indian city of Ahmedabad started construction of a four-foot-high wall to hide behind the slums from the eyes of US President Donald Trump during his visit to India next week.

According to Bloomberg News, on Wednesday, it is expected that millions of Indians will rejoice to welcome Trump as his motorcade moves from the airport in the Indian city of Ahmedabad next week, while there will be a few thousand local residents out of sight.

Trump and Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi are expected to open the "Motira Cricket Stadium" in Ahmedabad at a public reception called "Namaste Trump" on February 24, Bloomberg News reported.

Residents of these slums in India accuse the government of building a wall to "hide the poor" before Trump's visit to the country.

Trump told a news conference on Tuesday that he expected about seven million people on the field to welcome him and line up in the streets to greet him at the start of his two-day trip.
