The match against Mörrum in August put a stop to the Sillhövdas player Emil Alexandersson's football season. After a goal, he turned around to run towards his teammates when he was kicked from behind by an opponent. The injury resulted in a major knee operation as the meniscus had fallen to the wrong side of the knee. He still does not know today if he can be fully restored.

- Nobody knows, but there are good conditions. The operation went well and I have a good physiotherapist who helps me. I have the will to come back, but the body must heal, says Emil Alexandersson.

From having been bedridden and jumping on crutches at first, he can now work full time as an electrician - but he is affected by the damage on a daily basis.

- I still have knee pain. Some days are better than others, but for example it hurts if I get up too long, says the 20-year-old.

Received great support

After physiotherapy, he has recently been able to start training at the gym as part of his rehabilitation. The long-term goal is to be able to play football again.

- That's sad what happened. If I will not be able to play football again I will have my whole life with me - that I did not have to choose when I would quit. Then someone else chose it for me. But I don't want to think so. I want to think I'll be back, says Emil Alexandersson.

He has received great support from family, friends and the club Sillhövda AIK where the football buddies ask when he will come back to training.

- Some days it hurts terribly, but I keep fighting. I have no other choice, says Emil Alexandersson.
