A Boeing 737 from Transavia, which was on a Faro (Portugal) -Eindhoven (Netherlands) route, had to land urgently at Bordeaux-Mérignac airport on Saturday evening. The distress signal was triggered while flying over La Rochelle. Contacted by 20 Minutes , Bordeaux-Mérignac airport indicated that it was a “cardiac malaise on board”, and that the incident therefore had “nothing to do with an engine failure. "
Earlier in the week, an Airbus A220 from Air Baltic, which operated the Riga-Malaga route, also landed in emergency at Mérignac, this time due to an engine failure in flight.
