February 17, 2020 Henry 'Harry' Gregg, a former Northern Irish footballer from Manchester United in the late 1950s, died at the age of 87. The former player was purchased for the sizable sum for the time of 23 thousand pounds.

Gregg, in addition to his sporting results (he played the first semifinal of the Champions Cup in the history of the Red Devils), will be remembered forever for what he did in the Munich massacre of February 1958, a plane crash that killed 23 people , including 8 young United players.

In fact, the team was returning from a trip but there were problems taking off in Monaco: the plane crashed on metal nets also hitting some buildings, and in the impact the plane caught fire.

Gregg, who arrived in Manchester for just over two months, rescued teammates, including Bobby Charlton and Dennis Viollett, as well as other staff members, defying death to save them. This is why 'Henry' will always be remembered as 'the hero of Monaco'.
