The storm Dennis pulled in on Sunday evening, causing heavy flooding in several basements along the Österån River in Landeryd. Mirva Rajala has lived in the area for 14 years and has never participated in anything like it and now she criticizes Hylte municipality.
- Put larger check valves in the storm water outlets, in any way remedy at least, she says.
But installing non-return valves is not an option, says Hylte Municipality.
- Is it as rare as in this case, then maybe you should invest in a check valve yourself in the basement. You can buy and put in, says Carolina Storberg, who is VA manager at Hylte municipality.
"Clearly not nice to hear"Mirva Rajala says she has lost confidence in the municipality of Hylte.
- It is clear that it is not nice to hear, but now it is an extreme case and probably more municipalities have been affected, says Carolina Storberg.
