The victims were all French nationals. A small plane, leaving Dominica and going to Guadeloupe, crashed at sea, this Sunday, with four people on board, including a 16-year-old teenager, announced the prefecture of Guadeloupe, on Monday, adding that research continued.

The aircraft, "Piper type PA 28 model" crashed at sea "around 19:00 (00:00 French time), when it had just taken off from Charles Douglas airport in Dominica", explained the Guadeloupe prefecture in a press release.

A backpack found at sea

Four people were on board: “A 55-year-old couple with their 16-year-old minor son, as well as a 40-year-old man. All are French nationals, ”adds the prefecture. The research, led by CROSS Antilles-Guyane, was launched on Sunday evening, until 3 a.m.

They were suspended due to bad weather conditions, but "resumed Monday at 6:00 am". They made it possible to find at sea "a backpack with the passport of two of the occupants and an empty bag carrying the radio indicator of the aircraft".
