The Integrated Transport Center of the Department of Municipalities and Transport in Abu Dhabi announced that it will begin on the first of next March the implementation of the second phase of the public parking management system in Al Ain, by activating 5198 surface parking spaces in the Al Ain Mall areas (Othman bin Affan Street) and Al-Sarooj (Zayed bin Sultan Street) ).
In this regard, the Center indicated that the activation will include 830 sub-positions in Al-Hosn neighborhood, 581 sub-positions in Al-Muraba'a neighborhood, 2137 sub-positions, 158 major positions in Al-Kuwaitat, and 1492 sub-positions in Al-Niyadat.
The new positions are distributed in the following sectors: Sector 8B (Al-Hosn District), which is bordered to the north and east by Zayed Bin Sultan Street, to the west by Third Street, and near Al Ain Oasis to the south, and Sector 13 (Al-Murabbaa District), which is bordered to the north by Shakhbout Bin Sultan Street And from the south, Othman bin Affan Street, from the east Omar bin Al-Khattab Street, and from the west Hamza bin Abdul Muttalib Street, in addition to Sector 14 (Al-Kuwaitat), which is bordered to the north by Othman bin Affan Street, to the south by Salam Street, and to the east by Omar bin Al-Khattab Street, From the west, Zayed Bin Sultan Street, and Sector 15 (Al Niyadat), which is bordered to the north by Al Salam Street, and to the south by Khalid Bin Sultan Street That, from the east Omar bin Al-Khattab Street, and from the west Zayed bin Sultan Street.
To that, the Integrated Transport Center explained that this step comes within the framework of its plan to organize and manage vehicle parking in Al Ain city and provide long-term solutions for vehicle parking that enhance traffic flow and contribute to reducing wrong parking situations, pointing to its positive repercussions on the traffic, community, economic and environmental sectors Among which: achieving the optimal use of available parking, eliminating the phenomenon of random parking, enhancing the flow of traffic, making roads safer and more safe, and conducting public affairs in daily life, and supporting economic and commercial traffic and tourists Of the city.
This step also reduces the search time for a position and thus enhances the comfort of users, and supports the strengthening of the trend towards the use of public transport, environmental protection by reducing emissions from vehicle exhausts, in addition to maintaining the aesthetic appearance of the city of Al Ain and its streets, as well as employing databases Mawaqif in the service of urban and urban planning and population growth, in addition to maintaining the infrastructure of sidewalks and public facilities and supporting development plans and efforts made to achieve sustainable development in the Emirate of Abu Dhabi.
In parallel, the Integrated Transportation Center called on owners of vehicles from residents of those sectors to obtain permits for residents ’parking by visiting the website of the center www.itc.gov.ae, before the start of the activation process to avoid violations, knowing that the permits period will be determined starting from the date of actual application For service.
It is worth noting that the residents parking permit is granted to the tenant or owner of the residence in addition to his first and second degree relatives who live in the same housing as the father, mother, wife, children, brothers and sisters with a maximum of two permits for each residence, provided that the permit is specific to the vehicle and the sector in which the residence is located.
The annual fee for residents parking permits is 800 dirhams for the first vehicle permit, and 1200 dirhams for the second vehicle permit. Also, permits can be issued semi-annually, at a value of 400 dirhams for the first permit, and 600 for the second, according to the remaining period of the lease contract or at the request of the tenant / owner, knowing that the fees are free for families of residents of villas and according to reports issued by the inspectors, and for the citizen living in the apartments (4) Free permits subject to the approval of the Center.
As for the documents and requirements for issuing residents parking permits, they are the land plan for owners and tenants, a documented lease contract, a copy of the identity card, the vehicle ownership card, the water and electricity bill, and the payment of the necessary fees. The permit gives the owner the right to stop his vehicle in the available parking in the area where he lives without any additional fees.
Note that the hours of applying the "parking system" start from 8 in the morning until 12 in the morning from Saturday to Thursday, as the parking is divided into two types:
• Major parking in blue and white, with a fee of 3 dirhams per hour and a maximum of 4 hours parking.
• Sub-parking in blue and black, with a rate of 2 dirhams per hour or 15 dirhams per day. For holders of residents' permits, positions are allocated from 9:00 p.m. until 8:00 in the morning, marked by a sign and / or a blue line for residents of the area subject to the system. As for the parking in the villa areas, they are intended for permit holders who are residents of the villas only, and they can be identified through their guide boards.
To this, parking is free of charge during Fridays and public holidays, and for people of determination. Parking near mosques is also exempt from the paid parking system, where worshipers can park their cars without paying fees for 45 minutes from the start of raising the call to prayer.
At the same time, the center stressed that parking along the pavement dyed in yellow and gray, standing in the middle of the road and double parking, as well as parking in a way that impedes the movement of vehicles or pedestrians in pedestrian walkways or entrances or in front of fire craters is strictly prohibited, pointing to the presence of parking inspectors in the mentioned sectors to ensure It is the public’s obligation to follow the regulations followed in “parking” and that all vehicles that are in a wrong parking condition in the area will fall under penalty of applying wrong parking parking.
