The World Health Organization has reported that the number of infections with the mutated Corona virus (Covid-19) appears to be declining in China, citing a new Chinese medical report analyzing more than 44,000 cases of the virus.

Nevertheless, Mike Ryan, head of the WHO's health emergency program, told a press conference in Geneva that "it is too early to know whether this indicated decrease will continue."

The report pointed out that 80% of patients show only mild symptoms, while 14% suffer from severe complications such as pneumonia, and the disease develops in 5% to a critical condition, and 2% die from the disease.

Ryan stressed that infections remained relatively rare outside the main outbreak of the Corona virus (Covid-19), the main in China's Whai region. "Outside of Hai, the epidemic affects a very small percentage of people," he said.
