"They again witnessed US efforts to unwind the sanctions spiral against Russia," the embassy said on a Facebook post.
The diplomatic mission noted that only the UN Security Council has the right to apply restrictions in such situations.
“We see in this approach another surge of Russophobia,” the text says.
Earlier, US authorities imposed sanctions against three organizations from Russia, which, according to Washington, violate US national legislation on the non-proliferation of weapons of mass destruction (WMD) against Iran, North Korea and Syria.
