Elections of the governor of the Kaluga region will be held on September 13

"The election of the governor of the Kaluga region will be held on a single voting day - September 13," RIA Novosti quoted him as saying.

Earlier, Russian President Vladimir Putin accepted the resignation of the Kaluga Region Governor Anatoly Artamonov and appointed Vladislav Shapsha, the interim head of the Kaluga Region.

Artamonov later in an interview with RT commented on his decision to resign.
