A medical team at a university hospital in Hubei, Wuhan, the origin of the new coronavirus infection, has published a study on the characteristics of the new corona, including a variety of symptoms and rapid infection in the hospital.

Wuhan University Chunan Hospital's medical staff analyzed the 138 new corona patients admitted to the hospital from 1st to 28th of last month and published the paper on January 7 in the Journal of the American Medical Association.

According to the paper, 41% of patients infected with the new corona were infected in the hospital.

While treating patients hospitalized for another illness, 40 infected workers also said.

These patients have become "super propagators" that have infected more than 10 medical staff at once, the paper said.

Another characteristic of the new corona is that it is difficult to respond early due to various symptoms including abdominal pain, headache, and nausea, as well as cough, muscle aches and shortness of breath.

In fact, the number of medical staff members infected with the new corona was diverse, including 31 general wards, 7 emergency departments, and 2 intensive care units (ICUs).

The paper also explained that the number of people infected with the new corona ranged from 22 to 92 years, and the proportion of males and females was 75 and 63, respectively.

Of the patients confirmed at this hospital, 26% were seriously in need of intensive care, with a mortality rate of 4.3% (6) over the past three days.

Severe patients were older, with underlying diseases such as high blood pressure, diabetes, heart disease, and cancer.

On average, patients took five days from initial symptoms to severe dyspnea, seven days to hospitalization, and eight days to develop dyspnea syndrome.
