Angela Merkel raises her voice. The German chancellor called Thursday an "unforgivable act" the unprecedented regional electoral alliance between her party and the extreme right in Thuringia, which caused a political earthquake in the country.

"It must be said that this is an unforgivable act and therefore the result (of this election) must be canceled," said Angela Merkel, in a tone of great firmness, traveling to Pretoria in South Africa, at the day after the election of the leader of Thuringia with the combined votes of the far right and his own conservative party.
