Refuting any shortness of breath, opponents of the controversial pension reform in France were on the street Thursday for the ninth national day of mobilization to demand its withdrawal, with a continuation of strikes.

According to the Ministry of the Interior, 121,000 people demonstrated throughout France, including 15,000 in Paris, an increase in participation compared to that of the previous day of interprofessional mobilization, on January 30, which the ministry had estimated 108,000 in France and 13,000 in Paris.

The CGT for its part counted 130,000 demonstrators in the capital this Thursday, February 6, between Gare de l'Est and Nation, to demand the " withdrawal of an unfair and dangerous project ". At the call of the CGT, FO, Solidaires, FSU and youth organizations, 5,300 in Lyon, 4,500 in Marseille, 3,500 in Toulouse or Bordeaux, 2,700 in Rennes, 2,300 in Nantes , 1,700 in Lille, 1,600 in Clermont-Ferrand, 1,300 in Dijon, 1,100 in Perpignan, depending on the prefectures or the police.

It still serves at least to show that we raise our heads and that we will not stop raising them. There will be a spark at some point and I think the movement will get out of hand.

The mobilization is there. Those who refuse to see it must open their eyes, "said the secretary general of the CGT, Philippe Martinez. " We are far from being at the end of the movement, " he said in Paris, denouncing the "pseudo law" being examined at the National Assembly.

The special committee of the National Assembly began its work this week. It must examine 22,000 amendments, including 19,000 from LFI deputies. The inter-union opposed to the reform project called for a new day of strikes and demonstrations on February 20, three days after the start of the examination of the project in the National Assembly.
