A man died in Hong Kong from coronavirus. This was announced by the Hong Kong TV broadcaster. It is the first coronavirus victim in the former British colony that yesterday announced closing its borders with the rest of China.

In China the number of infected people has risen to 20,438. There are 425 dead. The national health commission has confirmed that there have been 64 new deaths from viruses - all in the Hubei province, an outbreak of the virus, bringing the national death toll to 425.
