A medical clinic will be opened for the Korean people who remain in Wuhan, China, where the outbreak of new coronavirus is still severe.

Hubei Provincial Korean Association said that the citizens decided to run a medical clinic in Wuhan where our citizens can see the doctor.

The clinic will be operated by a Korean doctor left in Wuhan.

Although the Chinese government has put thousands of medical staff into Wuhan and established a large temporary hospital, it is still difficult to take care of patients who are still crowded.

Many Wuhan citizens, including Korean citizens, go to the hospital with mild symptoms, and are afraid of being infected with the new coronavirus.

The citizens asked the Korean government to provide supplies such as medicines that are difficult to obtain due to local circumstances.

Wuhan citizens hope to use some space in the Consulate General of Wuhan as a clinic space.

Choi Deok-gi, chairman of Korean President Hubei Province in South Korea, recently met with government officials, saying the government officials responded positively to requests for clinic support.

The Hubei Provincial Korean Association is also volunteering to organize emergency response teams to deliver supporting materials such as quarantine supplies from Korea to Wuhan as well as isolated citizens in various cities in Hubei.

Hubei Provincial Korean Association hopes to get freely accessible vehicle passes from local Chinese government to help volunteers reach their homes in Wuhan and nearby cities.

In major cities of Hubei, such as Wuhan, which is blocked, unauthorized vehicles cannot travel on the road.

According to the results of the survey by the Korean Association, about 130 Korean citizens remain in other blocked cities in Wuhan and Hubei provinces, with the exception of the 700 who withdrew from the 1st and 2nd charters.

The remaining citizens include 15 infants under 5 years of age, 11 children, and 2 pregnant women.
