SVT has gained access to a newly made film from the dairy farm in Hälsingland, which should have been taken less than two months ago. The film shows that many animals are forced to wade around and lie in a thick layer of urine and faeces. In addition, several extremely lean animals are visible.

When SVT confronts the farm's owner, he does not answer any questions.

We would like to talk to you about your farm, about the animals, about animal husbandry there.

- No, I'm not going to talk about that. You get to talk to LRF about it, says the farm owner.

Decided on reconstruction

The National Farmers' Association, LRF, also does not want to answer any questions about the animals on the farm.

- Unfortunately for us, it is impossible to answer some detailed questions about this farm. It is private business that we do not have access to, ”says Ulf Wallin, LRF Press Manager.

A few weeks later, the farm's owner email SVT and writes that he has applied for reconstruction of his company. The district court has decided on this because he cannot pay his debts.

He does not want to make any other comments.

"Unacceptably lean"

Since 2010, the milk farm in Hälsingland has been reported 38 times to the County Administrative Board in Gävleborg, which has repeatedly noted shortcomings. Among other things, it has been about cows that have been too dirty and in holes, ie lean.

Experts at the Swedish University of Agricultural Sciences have examined pictures from the farm taken during the summer of 2019. The cows in the pictures have been classified as "very lean" and "unacceptably lean".

A report of animal cruelty and environmental crimes came to the police this summer, a preliminary investigation is currently underway. During the autumn, the county administrative board made two checks on the farm where deficiencies were identified and demanded that they be remedied.
