According to him, in today's Poland and Estonia “some kind of hysteria is raging” regarding the events of the Second World War.

“And some politicians are trying to make a certain populist capital for themselves,” the parliamentarian concluded.

Earlier, Põlluaas, in anticipation of a meeting with members of the Polish Armed Forces, said that Russia was trying to “rewrite” history “for the sake of its goals.”

He emphasized that Estonia and Poland remain faithful allies in NATO and the European Union and share views on historical events and security threats in the modern world.
